CPR FAQs

What is Southwest Virginia CPR doing to mitigate risk of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) disease transmission?

Southwest Virginia CPR sanitizes manikins immediately following each and every class. Manikins are equipped with one-time use, disposable lungs that are replaced after each class. Participants are also provided with their own personal protective airway equipment. Learn more about the steps Southwest Virginia CPR takes to ensure your safety during class by clicking here.

How long does my certification last?

Your certification lasts for 2 years.

Is there an age requirement to participate?

No, but in order to achieve certification, participants must demonstrate competency in required skills. In an Adult CPR course, for example, participants must compress the adult manikin chest at least two inches deep at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute. This may be difficult for children under 12. If you are under 18 and wish to receive certification, please contact us before signing up.
